Every year, the ACM Awards take time to celebrate the new faces who have begun to make their mark on country music and are poised to have an even bigger impact in the coming year. In 2016, Old Dominion took home the New Vocal Duo or Group of the Year honor, and this year, the "Song for Another Time" band is up for Vocal Group of the Year, proving that the winners in this category often go on to even more success. So, who will the New Vocal Duo or Group of the Year winner be in 2017?

Brothers Osborne are up for both New Vocal Duo or Group of the Year and Vocal Duo of the Year at the 2017 ACM Awards, and after their epic 2016, the sibling duo is going to be tough to beat. Not only did the guys release their debut album in January, to massive critical and commercial acclaim, but they also took home the award for Vocal Duo of the Year at the 2016 CMA Awards.

Dan + Shay are another duo that had a big year in 2016, both professionally and personally. Whether they were releasing their sophomore album in June, heading out on the road for their Obsessed Tour in the fall or proposing to their girlfriends within three months of each other (Shay Mooney in August, Dan Smyers in November), winning the ACM for New Vocal Duo or Group of the Year would be the perfect start to 2017 for Dan + Shay.

The only group nominated in this category is in the running for a second consecutive year. A Thousand Horses spent most of 2016 riding high on the release of their album Southernality; the disc's first single, "Smoke," made A Thousand Horses the first country group to reach No. 1 on the country charts with their debut single since the Zac Brown Band in 2008.

They may be nominated for New Vocal Duo or Group of the Year, but LoCash have actually been working hard in country music for over a decade. In 2016, Chris Lucas and Preston Brust released their third studio album, The Fighters, and kicked off their headlining Live Nation Ones to Watch Tour, which will run through April.

Representing in the New Vocal Duo or Group of the Year for the second year in a row, Maddie & Tae are the only female duo to be nominated in the category at the 2017 ACM Awards. In January, Maddie Marlow and Tae Dye were named to Forbes' 30 Under 30 list, capping off a big 2016, which included a performance at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Maddie & Tae are set to release their sophomore album in 2017.
