Plant Shopping This Weekend Was Definitely Not a Success For Me
I've never been a huge fan of plant shopping mostly because I struggle at keeping them alive and because I have absolutely no idea what to buy. Maybe you can help.
I want to plant a garden this year, although I'm feeling like it might be a bit early based on this fall-like weather we're having. Oh and did you hear they got snow in South Dakota??? It better stay there!
Anyway, as far as plants and gardening go, I can't even say I'm an amateur because I know nothing, nada, zip. Literally when I go plant shopping, I buy whatever is pretty and give no thought to where it needs to be planted or if it will even survive here.
Case in point, I once bought a beautiful oleander tree with a braided trunk. It was stunning but when I brought it home, my dad thought I was nuts and he didn't know how I'd keep it alive. If I remember correctly, it died. I see hibiscus everywhere too but I hear those are difficult to keep here too.
I know there are some plant experts here -- what are some beautiful, low maintenance flowers I can buy to make a pretty little garden?
