From Minnesota Prep tournaments, NCAA Basketball tournaments, Monster Truck Rally, major concerts, marching band competitions, the site of Super Bowl XXVI (26) in 1992 where the Washington Redskins topped the Buffalo Bills 37-24... and of course once home to the Minnesota Twins and currently the Minnesota Vikings, the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome, Mall of America Field, The Thunderdome, The Homerdome... whatever you may know it by, the "Dome" is in it's last few months of existence.

The Minnesota Vikings will play out the rest of this season in the "Dome" and then January 18, 2014 is the official day the air will be let out of the dome... even though the Vikings performance this season has left it without much life in the seats anyway.

I remember my first time in the Metrodome, it was a Minnesota Twins game in 1996, my first Vikings game came against the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2001, the only time in Vikings and Jags history the Vikings lost. I've seen one concert in the dome back in 2003 and most recently I took my nephew to Monster Jam where he had the time of his life.

I've had a lot of firsts in the dome, but Monster Jam with my nephew is my favorite memory to this day. Again, the dome will have the air let out of the building January 18, 2014 and construction on the new, unnamed (The House A.P. Built, seems reasonable), Vikings stadium will follow very soon after.

What is your favorite memory of the Metrodome?
