Add buying a pet to the list of things best not done while drunk.

Le Petite Puppy, a pet shop located among the bars in New York's West Village, has long had a problem with revelers rolling into its confines after happy hour, wanting to play with or purchase a new furry friend.

“The thing about the drinking thing is like…people just come here and want to hold the dog and they can drop the dog,” manager Fernanda Moritz explained.

So Le Petite Puppy has a new policy that forbids drunk customers from buying or handling dogs.

Instead, they are told they can come back the next day if they are still interested. Moritz added that owning a pet is hard work, and the decision to buy one should only be made with a clear mind.
