Wednesday, February 11, 2015 -- NBC News has suspended Nightly News anchor Brian Williams for six months without pay as a result of Williams falsely telling an Iraq war story for years. Lester Holt will continue to fill the void. Honestly, I think we have seen the last of Brian Williams on NBC.

Saturday, February 7, 2015 -- Brian Williams has now temporarily stepped down as the anchor of NBC Nightly News, amid controversy surrounding a false story he has been telling about the downing of his helicopter in Iraq in 2003. The move to step down was voluntary. Lester Holt will reportedly fill in for Williams.

Friday, February 6, 2015 -- NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams is facing an avalanche of accusations surrounding a story he's been telling for years about being aboard a U.S. Army helicopter that was shot down in Iraq. One little problem: he wasn't on it. And now he's blaming 'the fog of his memory' for the "mistake." There's no way he survives this.

Williams was speaking at a New York Rangers game last month, paying tribute to a retired soldier -- thanking him for protecting he and his camera crew in Iraq in 2003 after the helicopter he was riding in was hit and forced down by enemy fire. That would have been a nice tribute if it weren't for one little problem: it wasn't true.

In fact, Williams has been telling that story for years, but this time some of the military personnel involved in the incident have spoken up about the accuracy of his tale. And Williams has acknowledged that his story was not true, blaming it all on his memory.

I'm calling bull***t on your 'memory' excuse Williams. One does not forget if they were or were not actually on a helicopter that has been hit by enemy fire and forced to go down.

Williams apologized on the air, but the story hasn't gone away. No surprise there. "I'm sorry" doesn't come close to making it all ok. Now NBC has launched it's own investigation into the fiasco.

Brian Williams addressing the scandal on NBC News on February 4th:

Brian Williams telling his story on Letterman back in 2013:

Liar, liar pants on fire Brian. Busted. My prediction is that there is absolutely no way he survives this. #AskDanRather
