As much as I dislike the snow and cold, that's not what had me totally freaked out that night.

When I was a kid I would always go trick-or-treat at my grandparent's houses.  My dad's parents lived in Minnetonka so we'd stop there first and visit for awhile.  Then sometimes we'd stop at my great-aunt's house in Brooklyn Park.  After that it was on to my other grandma's house in St. Louis Park.

The houses in her neighborhood are pretty close together and some of them do a great job decorating for Halloween.  On this particular year she told my mom to take me to a house a block over.  As I recall it was just starting to snow and this house was going to be our last stop.

We went over to this big brown house and I don't even think I made it all the way to the door.  There was a casket along the front steps and all of a sudden it opened and a man stepped out.  My mom says he tried to give me candy but all I remember is just freaking out and trying to get away.  Oh my gosh, I was so scared!

Looking back it was foolish but as a 5 year old, it was terrifying.  What is your scariest Halloween memory?
