When I was a kid, I never really understood why my parents would get so made at me for not cleaning up after myself.  It only took me the better part of two decades, but I finally get it now.

I was reading an article today about things your parents would get mad at you for that you now understand why there got so upset.  I will be completely honest, I spent a good amount of time in trouble when I was a kid.   Not like bad trouble, more bratty trouble.

I was a little (okay, a lot) mouthy and I hated cleaning!! I was always being told to pick up my toys or clean my room or clean something else.  I would do just about anything to get out of it, although it didn't typically work.  I won't say never though.

I remember one time when I was really young, my grandpa was babysitting me.  My parents were at work and he told me to pick up my toys.  I'd pick one up, put it in the toy box and go lay back down on the couch to watch television.  Then a few minutes later he'd tell me again, so I'd complete the same routine.  I'm pretty sure I eventually got in trouble.

Now, I totally understand why they'd get angry with me.  I won't go so far as to say I'm a Danny Tanner neat freak but I do prefer my areas to be clean and organized.  It irritates me when I have to clean up others' messes, especially when they're perfectly capable of doing it themselves.

What did you get in trouble for all the time as a kid?
