Thanksgiving is one of my favorite times of the year and YES, it's because of all the food.

My family is a huge. My mom is one of 13-brothers and sisters... we have a LOT of food. This year I won't be able to make it home for Thanksgiving, but that's ok, Brittany's aunt, uncle and cousins invited us over to their place for turkey day and it's always a great time when we spend time over at their place.

That's not to say I won't miss being home this year. With such a large family the food is endless and that goes for the VARIETY of food prepared. My family usually prepares two turkeys, one smoked (my favorite) and one prepared the old fashioned way and tossed in the oven and we also do a ham.

Of course, what would Thanksgiving be without potatoes and gravy, stuffing(s) salads, beans and pies. My aunt, Barb, makes me my favorite pie, she makes me my OWN banana cream pie for both Thanksgiving and Christmas... it's the greatest two holidays of the year for that fact alone. I love banana cream pie!
