I love to watch the Holiday Baking Championship on Hulu. It always gets me in the mood to do some holiday baking. I had a basic chocolate spritz cookie recipe and made a few twists and turns. What I created is a tasty, moist cookie that chocolate and cream cheese lovers will devour. Proceed with caution.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 STICK BUTTER  (1/2 CUP)
  • 1 1/2 CUPS WHIPPED PHILADELPHIA CREAM CHEESE
  • 3/4 CUP BROWN SUGAR
  • 1/2 CUP SUGAR
  • 1 1/2 TEASPOON VANILLA
  • 3-4 TABLESPOONS OF HELLMAN'S MAYONNAISE (YES! SECRET WEAPON. Otherwise you can use 2 eggs...but I didn't).
  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • Powdered Sugar for topping

DIRECTIONS

Preheat oven to 350.  Mix butter and cream cheese together. Add brown sugar, sugar, and vanilla. Mix. Add mayonnaise. Mix. In a side bowl mix flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Add powder mixture to your sugar mixture.  This should be the consistency that it could be pressed out of a press.  If you have a press, you can use it. I didn't so I just rolled up the dough into small melon ball size.

Once you place melon size balls on the cookie sheet, take your pointer finger and press in the center of each cookie . This will help the cookies bake evenly.

Bake for 10 minutes. Remove from oven. Put 1/2 cup powdered sugar in a sifter, and sift over cookies while still on baking sheet and warm.  Once they cool, you can move the cookies to a container.

This recipe made about 2 1/2 dozen cookies.  They are DELICIOUS!
