There's some pretty interesting stuff going on in my neck of the woods.

According to an article from KSTP the Buffalo and Monticello communities can participate in the 'Get Happy' study.

High school students in Buffalo sat in on a presentation from Duke University Professor Bryan Sexton, who has studied resiliency all over the world.  He has found that focusing on the positive can make people happier and as a result, healthier.

The school and students at Buffalo High School have already started practicing this initiative through small and random acts of kindness.  They've done things such as hand out gift cards in the grocery store, spend time with elderly and even doing positive sidewalk art.

It seems to be making a difference and the study has the potential for going community wide.

I think this seems like a pretty cool venture for the communities to participate in. So often, we focus on the negative of our world and personal lives and this gives people the opportunity to create positive change for themselves and for others. I'm going to do a little more research, but I think I might participate in this. I'll keep you posted!
