There's less than a month before Miranda Lambert's new album 'Platinum' hits store shelves, and she's spilling more details about the highly anticipated record, including the inspiration behind the album's title.

"Once I had that [title] in my mind, I couldn't think of anything else," she tells Billboard. And then, the thing that got her was a little dare from Nicolle Galyon, who wrote Lambert's duet with Keith Urban 'We Were Us.'

Galyon told the songstress, "Well, I bet you don't have the know-what's to name your album 'Platinum.'" Lambert responded, saying, "Why did you have to say that? Now that's going to be in my head"

And so it stuck. Nothing else fit, and she simply loves platinum -- for so many reasons besides it being a great song. "I love Airstreams and I love Bud Light Platinum and I love the hair color platinum and I love platinum and diamonds."

While country music fans know the fiery, sassy side of Lambert -- "I'm just a Texas girl that speaks her mind, and sometimes that gets me in trouble" -- she also has found the freedom to display her soft side.

"Hey, I have this other side. I love pink and puppies, too," says Lambert, explaining, "With success, I've been able to sort of calm that down and go, 'OK, I don't have to be guns a-blazin' all the time.' People are listening, so I can open up my softer side and show people who the whole Miranda is."

With 16 tracks and a variety of collaborations, fans will see many sides of the 30-year-old, and that's apparent in her new single 'Automatic' which is definitely more toned down than her precocious 'Mama's Broken Heart.'

'Platinum' drops on June 3, and includes collaborations with Little Big Town, Carrie Underwood, and the Time Jumpers.
