I bought a manual treadmill on the internet a few months ago not knowing that it was manual. I bought it without doing much research because it was "only" $100.

The treadmill arrived, I opened the box and instantly regretted my purchase. It was my own fault for not reading carefully. I'm not the only one with this problem. According to a new survey the average person spends about $4,500 a year on items that they end up regretting.

The most common thing that men and women spend money on and regret is unhealthy food like pizza, burgers, french fries and sweets.

Men tend to regret their alcohol purchases and women end up regretting buying clothes.

The survey also suggests that people should be saving an average of $215 a month. That's about $2580 a year. If we made smarter purchases we could actually increase our savings by about 60 percent. You could take that money and go on that trip you've always dreamed of!
