The Minnesota Wild (36-12-6) beat the Tampa Bay Lightning (24-24-7) 2-1 in a shootout last night at the Xcel Energy Center. Tied 1-1 at the end of regulation and overtime, Minnesota's Mikko Koivu tallied the only goal for either team in the shootout.

Minnesota's 78 points remains the best in the Western Conference, and just four behind the NHL best Washington Capitals (82) who have played one more game than the Wild.

Next the Wild face the Detroit Red Wings tomorrow afternoon (2/12) at the Xcel Energy center in St. Paul. Let's go Wild!
