The Minnesota Wild (33-11-5) beat the Edmonton Oilers (24-20-5) 5-2 last night in Alberta, extending their Central Division lead over second place Chicago to six points. The Oilers came into last night's game sitting in first place in the Pacific Division.

Minnesota's 71 points remains the best in the Western Conference, and just one behind the NHL best Washington Capitals (72).
