The Minnesota Wild (6-2-2) made it five straight wins, defeating the visiting Colorado Avalanche 3-2 Saturday night at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.

Colorado held a 1-0 lead at the end of the first period, but Minnesota had things evened up 1-1 at the end of the second on a goal by Mikael Granlund (5). The Wild opened third period scoring with a powerplay goal by Eric Stahl (5). Jonas Brodin (8) added a short-handed empty net goal to give the Wild a 3-1 lead.

That Avalanche would counter with a goal with 40-seconds left in the game, but that's where things would end.
