The Minnesota Wild open the 2018-19 season tonight against the Colorado Avalanche in Denver. The home opener is Saturday night against the Las Vegas Golden Nights at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.

The Wild are coming off a season finishing 45-26-11, good for third place in the Central Division and a spot in the postseason. Minnesota was eliminated in the first round of the playoffs by the Winnipeg Jets who captured the best-of-seven series 4 games to 1.

Minnesota's Stanley Cup championship odds for 2019 are listed at 40:1. The top contenders at 8:1 are the Tampa Bay Lightning, Toronto Blue Jays, and Winnipeg Jets. The Ottawa Senators are at the bottom of the list at 200:1.
