The Minnesota Wild have lost captain Mikko Koivu for the rest of the season with a torn ACL suffered in the team's 5-4 shootout loss last night to the Sabres in Buffalo.

Koivu is expected to undergo surgery on Friday. Koivu has 29 points in 48 games with the Wild so far this season.

The Wild host the Edmonton Oilers Thursday night at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul at 7 PM, and can be heard in St. Cloud on AM 1390 KXSS.
