The Minnesota Wild announced today that they have hired former Anaheim Ducks and Washington Capitals head coach Bruce Boudreau as the team's new head coach. Boudreau replaces interim coach John Torchetti who joined the Wild after they fired head Coach Mike Yeo in February.

In nine seasons with Anaheim and Washington, Boudreau had a record of 409-182-90 as head coach, and claimed eight division titles during those years. The knock on Boudreau is that his teams have not had the same success in the post-season, generating just a 41-39 playoff record. Boudreau was fired by the Ducks after their first-round elimination to the Nashville Predators last month.
