The team at Road Snacks have combed through the data, tallied the scores, and listed the best states in America to live in -- and the survey says that Minnesota came it at #5 on the list. Nebraska came in on top, and Mississippi came in dead last. Here's more of the list, and how they came up with the results.

The Best of The Best:

  1. Nebraska
  2. Iowa
  3. Wyoming
  4. North Dakota
  5. Minnesota

Other Notables:

South Dakota (#11), Wisconsin (#13), Nevada (#46), Arizona (#47), Alabama (#48), Florida (#49), Mississippi (#50).

Here's what they looked at to create the rankings:

  • Highest Unemployment Rates
  • Adjusted Median Income (Median income adjusted for the cost of living)
  • High Housing Vacancy Rate
  • Education (Low expenditures per student and high Student Teacher Ratio)
