Minnesota Among Most Charitable States
On the heels of Black Friday and Cyber Monday you have today: #GivingTuesday. It's known as the symbolic start to the charitable giving season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving -- and almost nobody does it better than Minnesotans.
According to the number-crunching elves at WalletHub, Minnesota is the second most charitable state in the Union, behind only Utah. Rounding out the top-five on the charitable champions list are North Dakota, Maryland, and Oklahoma.
When it comes to lending a hand, we do more than open our wallets -- we also donate our time -- and Minnesota had the third highest volunteer rate in the country.
The five least charitable states: Hawaii (46), Nevada (47), Texas (48), California (49), and Arizona (50).
