Meet Staff Sergeant Michael Daniel from Sauk Rapids, MN. He's our November Veteran of the Month. Daniel was nominated by his wife Geri who had this to say about him:

"I am nominating my husband SSG Michael Daniel because I feel his hard work and devotion to family would make him an excellent Veteran of the month...To say that this man is a pillar of strength is an understatement...From the time I had met him in 2009, I have seen nothing but an inner strength and those warrior qualities take hold in our everyday life."

Daniel joined the military in 2002, fresh out of high school. He needed a way to support his family. He was on active duty in the Army for four years. He spent a majority of that time on deployment.

Daniel eventually became and Army Reservist and has been ever since. Since 2009, Daniel has gone on two deployments.

His wife said he is surviving with post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). "I can tell you there is nothing like being woken up in the middle of the night being told to drop and give him 20," said Geri. But, she says he's finding ways to deal with his stress and he is learning to thrive.
