Over the last two weeks, hockey players, coaches, parents, fans, and community members all rallied together to support their local schools as 98 Country is helping host Hockey Day in Central Minnesota this weekend! With 57% of the almost 1,200 votes cast, Little Falls, Minnesota...Home of the Flyers is hosting Friday night!

Founded in 1848 before even the founding of the Minnesota Territory, Little Falls is now an 8,300+ person-strong community spanning both banks of the Mighty Mississippi. Home to flight pioneer Charles Lindbergh, the Dam Festival in June, the Morrison County Fair in July, and the famous Arts & Crafts Fair in September, Little Falls is an important part of our Central Minnesota community. Their hockey faithful raised 675 of a total 1,184 votes to host this first ever game to kick-off a weekend that could turn into a local yearly tradition!

Many thanks from myself, Brandl Motors Hockey Zone MN, the Granite City Lumberjacks and countless others for showing your support for our local "State of Hockey." Every local game, practice, and pick-up is deserving of a visit to showcase our passion for the game we love. I just wish we could be at all of them. Maybe next year we can!

I was a pretty tired guy earlier today as I went to the first event of our local "Hockey Day" at the home of the Saint Cloud Youth Hockey Association:
