Little Big Town have canceled three additional weeks of shows to let vocalist Jimi Westbrook heal. The “Girl Crush” singers were expected to return to the stage on July 31, but Westbrook is still recovering from vocal cord surgery.

Westbrook underwent surgery in late June, and has been silent since. A polyp had formed on his vocal cord, something that’s not uncommon in the music industry. Kimberly Schlapman said in mid-July that his recovery was going well, but the group announced the disappointing update on Sunday (July 26).

Update: Little Big Town has specified which shows they're canceling, telling Taste of Country they cancelled three weeks of shows in August. The next scheduled Little Big Town show is now August 22 in Avondale, Newfoundland. Also, the Aug. 1 show in St. Leonard, Md. has been moved to Sept. 25. Visit the band's official website to see a full, updated list of tour dates.

The Monroe News reports that openers David Nail and Ashley Monroe have also canceled the Aug. 2 show, as the tour travels as a group. It’s not clear if either will make appearances at other scheduled stops.
