The St. Cloud Rox (16-20) lost to the Larks 3-1 Tuesday night in Bismarck, completing the two-game sweep for the home team. It was the last time the two teams will meet this regular season.

John Matthews pitched seven shutout innings and struck out nine batters for St. Cloud. The lone RBI of the game for the Rox was credited to Ryan Weisenberg, when he drew a bases-loaded walk in the ninth inning.

After Bismarck pushed across three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning, St. Cloud responded. Gus Steiger led off the inning with a base hit to left field. He later advanced to second base as Ryland Kerr got on base due to fielder’s choice.

Bobby Seymour then reached base on an error from Bismarck’s second baseman, which loaded the bases. Weisenberg drew a walk to cut the deficit to two runs, but the Rox comeback would end there.

The Rox will face the Huskies this afternoon at 3:05 pm in Duluth. (Radio: 1390 KXSS)
