The 2015 edition of the Minnesota Twins opened Spring Training this week in Fort Meyers, Florida -- under the command of new manager Paul Molitor. I've got my tickets for the home opener on Monday, April 13th -- and my hopes are high for signs of improvement after a handful of painful seasons.

I love summer and Twins games in the sun with a cold beer (or three). And maybe a couple of hot dogs and a bag of sunflower seeds. Seriously, an ice cold Grain Belt, some sunscreen, and a win every now and then would be nice. I try to make at least a game a month during the season.

After catching games a kid at Met Stadium in Bloomington, the Metrodome (including games 6 & 7 in the '87 series), and now Target Field in Minneapolis -- I have become a huge lover of the outdoor game. It makes the recent string of losing a little easier to take. Hope springs eternal. Hey, we're tied for first place today.

By the way, 'hope' also applies to the hope for warmer weather, green grass, and a nice summer breeze blowing out to left field (and a cold Grain Belt).

Go Twins!
