St. Cloud Cathedral junior forward and North Dakota recruit Austin Poganski had a night for the ages Thursday at the MAC in St. Cloud.

Poganski scored an apparent team record 12 points in Cathedral's 17-1 drubbing of Mora in a Section 6A Quarterfinal matchup. The junior scored five goals and added seven assists in the win.

The scoring started with Cathedral junior forward Will Hammer's goal at 2:33 of the first period with Poganski getting an assist. Poganski scored a goal of his own at 11:06, then assisted on an Austin Swingle goal at 13:43 to make the score 3-0 after one period.

Poganski then scored :37 into the second period and again at 3:03 to make the score 6-0. He collected an assist on a Tommy Hall goal at 5:17 and another Hammer goal just over two minutes later to give the Crusaders an 8-0 lead.

The points kept pouring in, with Poganski getting an assist at 10:30 and then a goal at 10:57 to make it 11-0. He added two more assists before the second period ended for good measure.

Poganski completed his scoring for the night at :37 of the third period with a goal.

William Hammer had three goals and three assists for six points on the night.

Cathedral will take on Princeton at the MAC on Saturday in a section semifinal matchup.
