Creedence Clearwater Revival were one of those bands hard to put in one category, especially since there weren't so many classifications in the 60's and 70's.Now they fit under "Classic Rock", "Roots Rock" or "Americana" but it's very evident they were influenced by Country Music (a close cousin of Americana) and today's Country was also influenced by them.

John Fogerty's voice is easily one of the most distinguishable voices of any genre and at times too aggressive for the Country crowd.  Musically they implemented a lot of blues, bluegrass and classic rock n' roll.   It's a similar mix that the current Country Music scene implements.

Here's one of their many classics "Have You Ever Seen The Rain".

John Fogerty has a new release on the way and he's teaming up with some big names in country like Miranda Lambert, Zac Brown, Brad Paisley and rockers like Tom Morello of Rage Against The Machine.
