Jason Aldean might sport a cowboy hat most of the time, but in the occasional behind-the-scenes video we’ll see him looking like the all-American guy in a baseball cap, a T-shirt and jeans. Recently, Aldean took it a big step further, stepping out of the world of pearl snaps, snakeskins and belt buckles to don a uniform of a different kind: an Atlanta Braves baseball uniform, complete with cleats and all.

Filming for an upcoming episode of the Great American Country show ‘Day Jobs,’ Aldean not only suited up with the team — he actually took part in their spring training. Though we haven’t yet been able to view the footage of the show to see if Aldean did any impressive slides into home or wowed the pros with his hidden baseball skills, we did get to hear some of what he was up to via a series of tweets from the Braves.

“Chipper and @Jason_Aldean signing for some fans. Day in the life of a Braves player at Spring Training” the first tweet read. Then, following Aldean through his day in the life, the team tweeted “@Jason_Aldean taking part in sliding drills.” Aldean’s episode of the show will air on GAC on April 4.

Aside from running bases and practicing his sliding, Aldean has been filling arenas nationwide on his My Kinda Party Tour, most recently selling out Atlanta’s Aaron’s Amphitheatre at Lakewood in just a few hours. With that kind of traffic, it’s no wonder that the Braves let the country star come out and practice with them for a day. In fact, the Georgia native had to add an additional night to his Atlanta stop so he could accommodate all the fans who wanted to get a glimpse of him.
