Facebook announced that they are planning to add a dislike button to Facebook. This goes against a quote I heard from the great rabbit Thumper who said "if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all."

I think there are enough internet trolls out there and creating a dislike button will only help keep the trolls, trolling.

The thinking behind adding a dislike option would be to make things less awkward when someone posts a sad Facebook status. For example, if someone posted about a death, car accident or some other bad situation it would be inappropriate to "like" the post. Hence, a dislike button would allow people to support the person who posted the status without things getting awkward.

I'm just interested to see how this will change the dynamics of Facebook. Perhaps we could see our friends lists go from hundreds to handfuls when all is said and done.

What do you think? Are you excited about the upcoming change to Facebook?
