I’m Deeply Saddened By The Loss Of SCSU’s President Earl Potter

I'm deeply saddened by the loss of St. Cloud State University President, Earl H. Potter III. He tragically died in a one vehicle crash late yesterday afternoon in Brooklyn Park, MN.

I had the opportunity to work one-on-one with Dr. Potter numerous times throughout my time in the SCSU student government on things like lobbying the state legislature and raising awareness on higher educations issues, saving the athletic program at SCSU and increasing efforts to keep students safe on campus. His passion for higher education was obvious to everyone around him. Potter was an inspiration for students, faculty, staff and community members.

This is an immense loss for our community as a whole. My thoughts and prayers are with the Potter family in this difficult time.
