A new survey from Harris Interactive revealed that 54% of us were taught to drive by our dads.  This got me thinking about my own 'interesting' driving lessons.

I need to preface this story with the fact that my dad has a crazy sense of humor, I guess that's where I got mine.

It was a summer day and I was all ready to go out driving.  I was in our purple minivan (a.k.a. the BarneyMobile) anxiously waiting for my dad to come out so we could cruise around and I could experience the freedom of being able to drive.  I had high hopes things .would go well but I have no patience when I'm excited and he was taking too long.  I should have known something was up

As soon as he stepped out of the house, I knew this was going to be a circus.  He came out decked out in a helmet, elbow pads and knee pads.  Seriously??? I mean it's funny for sure, but maybe not the best confidence booster.

Needless to say, he ended up leaving most of the driving lessons to my mom.  To this day we still laugh at that story.

Who taught you how to drive?
