I’ll Be Reeling In Tomorrow’s Minnesota Fishing Opener

Ladies & gentlemen, start you boat motors as the 2016 Minnesota Fishing Opener hits at midnight tonight. Walleye, Northern, Bass, Crappie, Trout, Perch. Bring 'em all on. I will be up north at the cabin for the big day tomorrow. Part fishing, part tradition, part looking' forward to summer (and probably part making a fire).

The 'Governor's Fish Opener' takes place Saturday on Big Sandy Lake, near McGregor. 'Pete's Fishing Opener' will be taking place at our family getaway up north. There's speculation that the Governor's 2017 opener might take place in St. Cloud.

This year the Minnesota DNR has created a nice 'Fish Minnesota' website that is a catch-all for all your Minnesota fishing info and questions.
