I’ll Be Reeling in Saturday’s Minnesota Fishing Opener

Ladies & gentlemen, start you boat motors -- as the 2017 Minnesota Fishing Opener arrives this Saturday. Walleye, Northern, Bass, Crappie, Trout, Perch. Bring 'em all on. I will be up north at the cabin for the big day Saturday. Part fishing, part tradition, part looking' forward to summer (and probably part making a fire).

The 'Governor's Fish Opener' takes place Saturday on the Mississippi River right here in St. Cloud. 'Pete's Fishing Opener' will be taking place at our family cabin in St. Louis County (pictured above).

This year the Minnesota DNR has created a nice 'Fish Minnesota' website that is a catch-all for all your Minnesota fishing info and questions.
