I ate way too much junk over the long holiday weekend. I could definitely feel it too! I had a headache, my body hurt and I just felt overall sluggish. I had heard about celebrities who recommend taking regular detox baths, so, I decided to try a detox bath for myself.

Basically, it's a bath that is supposed to cleanse your body of toxins by sweating them out and replenishing your body with nutrients and magnesium.

You start by filling your bathtub half full with hot water, Then mix two cups of baking soda and two cups of Epsom salt into a large bowl, and start pouring it into the bath tub. Next, you'll want to measure out 1/3 cup of coconut oil and add it to your bath water. Lastly, add 5-6 green tea bags to the water and some essential oil.

Now that the bath is ready, you'll want to sit in the tub for 20-40 minutes and fully submerge your body up to your neck. Make sure that the water isn't too hot. It should be comfortable enough to sit in. Make sure that someone else is home with you when you take a cleansing bath. Some people feel light headed after taking them because you get dehydrated--make sure to drink plenty of water before and after. You'll also want to make sure not to eat anything directly before or after the bath.

When you're ready to get out of the tub, get out slowly and rinse yourself off with cool water--and, that it!

After taking the bath yesterday, I don't feel extremely different today--So, it's hard to say if it worked or not. It did help me feel less sluggish last night and extremely relaxed. My skin feels really smooth today from the coconut oil and my pores were really clear today. I definitely think I'll try it again!

If you're suffering from dry skin, having trouble sleeping, you're stressed or just feeling a little off or sluggish, you should definitely try a cleansing bath!
