There's a couple people here at the station who smoke frequently, and have told me how awesome it is, so I finally tried it and I love it! I can't stop smoking everything in sight.

There's something that just grabs my taste buds when you smoke food. It's a taste like no other if done correctly. So I finally went out and bought a pellet smoker grill and decided to try it myself.

So far there is nothing that's turn out bad. In the past 2 weeks I've made the following meats on this smoker grill:

  • Teriyaki beef jerky
  • Steaks
  • Salmon
  • Chicken wings
  • Burgers (beef and chicken)
  • Regular beef jerky

This last batch of beef jerky was an experiment. I wanted a more tough jerky, so I picked up a dehydrator and smoked my marinated beef slices for 2 hours at 180 degrees, then immediately put them in the dehydrator for another 2 hours at 160 degrees. Everybody seems to like them so far, so that's great news!

Have you ever made awesome smoked food? If so, give me some ideas and I'll give it a shot. The world is almost unlimited in what you can do to smoke meat on the grill.

My next challenge is going to be a beef brisket, which is the king of all smoking in my opinion. I'm hoping that won't be my first fail!
