I always like trying anything new and that includes food. No matter how gross it sounds or smells. I'll give it a try at least once and this weekend was no exception.

Brittany's parents came up to spend the weekend with us and we had a good time. Brittany's dad, Gary, was given spicy pickled eggs for Christmas last year and when he unwrapped them, we gave each other a look like... ummm, I don't know about that.

Gary and I both enjoy spicy food, hot sauces, pickled herring and a bunch of other foods. So, when they came up this past weekend, he brought the jar of spicy pickled eggs (pictured above) and we gave them a try.

Let me tell you what is in this jar. The eggs are hard boiled, they are soaking in vinegar, black pepper, sliced jalapeno peppers and cayenne pepper... this is why we hesitated when it came to trying these eggs. They sound like you could get third degree burns on the roof of your mouth.

Well, after a few bottles of liquid courage, we decided it was time to dive into this jar of spices. The result... Not bad! I thought they were going to be one of the most awful things I have ever bitten into, turns out I actually liked them. I ate a few more and then called it a night with the eggs... too many of those and it will turn and burn your stomach.

What is a strange food you hesitated to try but then gathered the courage and it turned out you like it?
