The St. Cloud State men's hockey team (16-19-1) lost Game Two of their best-of-3 series at the University of North Dakota (20-14-3) 6-5 in overtime last night. The win gives UND a 2-0 sweep of the NCHC quarterfinal series.

SCSU's losing record makes them ineligible for the NCAA tournament. The 16-team field will be announced on Sunday, March 19th. It will be the first time in four years that the Huskies have not been part of the tournament.

The win sends North Dakota on to the Frozen Faceoff to play the University of Denver in the semifinals this weekend at the Target Center in Minneapolis. UM-D also advanced to the Frozen Faceoff, and will face the winner of the Western Michigan/Omaha series -- tied at one game apiece.
