ST. CLOUD - The St. Cloud State Huskies fell 5-2 in a huge game against the University of North Dakota on Friday night. With the win, North Dakota moves into first place in the NCHC with a three point lead.

St. Cloud State led off the scoring in the first period with a power play goal from Joey Benik. The goal was Benik's ninth of the season.

UND would storm SCSU with a five goal barrage in the second period. Connor Gaarder tied the game for UND at 5:10 in the second. Luke Johnson and Mark MacMillan both scored to make it 3-1.

North Dakota would extend their lead to 4-1 with Gaarder's second goal in the contest. Drake Caggiula added one more for UND to make it 5-1 going into the third.

SCSU would get one more goal from Kevin Gravel at 15:25 in the third, making it 5-2.

UND outshot SCSU 34-24 in the contest. Ryan Faragher made 21 saves and allowed five goals in 39:52 minutes of play before being relieved by Charlie Lindgren.

The Huskies will look for a much needed rebound against UND on Saturday night. Game time is set for 7:07 p.m. at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center.
