Rudolph doesn't need a bright red nose: He needs windshield wipers, an umbrella, and a lighting rod. Stay tuned for potential storm track changes.

From the National Weather Service this evening: A powerful storm will reach the area this weekend. In the meantime, a light snowfall will occur on Friday, followed by a dry and mild Saturday ahead of the storm. As the main storm approaches, precipitation will begin as a wintry mix on Saturday night, then turn to rain on Sunday as warmer air lifts north into the region. A few thunderstorms are also possible late Sunday afternoon and evening. Around one inch of rain is expected, which could lead to river flooding and urban flooding (especially where storm drains are plugged by snow piles). The best chance for accumulating ice and snow will be across northern Minnesota, northern Wisconsin and the Dakotas.
