I took a look at this list and was thinking 'I need to get out more!'

Only In Your State compiled a list of 13 of the tiniest towns in Minnesota that you may have never heard of.  I admit there's only a few I've heard of but what about you?  The list includes:

  • Holdingford: Maybe it's because I'm from Central Minnesota, but how have you not heard of Holdingford??
  • Orr: Nope
  • Vergas: Possibly and I'm guessing because it's home to the largest loon statue in the world
  • Hallock: Sounds familiar but I'm not sure why
  • Scanlon: Nope
  • Maynard: Yes, but the only reason I've heard of it is because one of my co-workers is from there
  • Wood Lake: Nope
  • Foreston: Yes, a listener called me from there once
  • Watkins: Seriously?
  • Deer River: Nope
  • Ranier: Sounds familiar
  • Zumbro Falls: Nope
  • Eagle Bend: Yes but I don't remember how I heard about it

This is a great list and it's a great reminder for me to explore more of Minnesota because there is so much to see.

Some of these towns seem pretty big to be a 'tiny town' and I've got one that beats them all. My great grandparents had a home in Farwell, Minnesota (not far from Alexandria) where I believe there is just a church, a bar and a population of 76.

What's the smallest Minnesota town you've been to or heard of?
