And when I say hot, I mean sweaty, toasty, hot. And it's not easy! But will I go back for another class?

Yes! I loved it!

I took my first hot yoga class yesterday and I was a little apprehensive. But it was very relaxing with the heat, the lights down low, the soft music and the great instructor. However, be prepared for a work-out! Yoga is not just about stretching and relaxing. You will have to balance, hold the pose (not easy), find your strength, and you will use every muscle in your body.

Before you jump in, here are a few tips from a beginner:

You will need a mat. Most gyms offer them if you don't have your own.

You will need a towel. The gym I go to offers one when you walk in the door.

Bring a bottle of cold water.

Take a break if you need it. I walked out into the cool air with my water bottle for a couple of minutes about half-way through.

Choose your challenge. This is what the instructor repeated to us. Do what works for you, whether you're a beginner or an expert.

And finally, don't be afraid to give it a try!
