I bought a house in October and I'm just now getting around to throwing the housewarming party. My boyfriend and I have some conflicting views on our housewarming party etiquette. Neither of us have owned a home before, so we're not really sure who is right.

I think that our guests are expecting to have a full dinner when they come over. My boyfriend thinks that our guests are just stopping by to see the house and are only expecting light hors d'oeuvres and snacks.

I think the party should be an all day celebration but my boyfriend thinks that having a party from 1-9 p.m. is too long. He thinks that we should shorten the number of hours to 1-6 p.m.

I think you should have enough tables and chairs set up for at least half of the people you invited to be able to sit down. My boyfriend says that since people will be coming and going, we don't need to have a ton of tables and chairs set up.

We need your help! Take my poll and tell us what you think.
