Has Facebook Made Class Reunions Pointless? [poll]

My 20th high school class reunion was this past weekend, and I skipped it.

I don't necessarily hate anyone from my graduating class; I just wasn't really close with many classmates. I've maintained contact with the ones I was/am.

Through Facebook.

It got me to thinking: has Facebook (and social media in general) made class reunions unnecessary?

We can contact almost anybody we need to with a few clicks. Sure, you don't always see them in person; but you can chat, video chat, post on their wall, etc. And if they update their profiles, you know what's going on with them (family, careers, etc.).
