The Minnesota Gophers (2-1) needed everything they had to top visiting Kent State (1-2) 10-7 yesterday afternoon in Minneapolis. St. John's (3-0) kept their unbeaten record in tact with a 24-16 win over Concordia College (2-1) in Moorhead. SCSU (1-2) rallied late, but came up short -- falling 21-20 to Southwest Minnesota State (3-0) at Husky Stadium.

The win by the Johnnies sets up a marquee battle next Saturday in Collegeville between unbeaten #8 St. John's and unbeaten #12 St. Thomas. The day will feature ESPN's Sports Center broadcasting from Clemens Stadium.

The Minnesota Gophers continue their non-conference schedule next Saturday hosting Ohio University at 3:30 PM at TCF Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.

St. Cloud State takes to the road next Saturday to play at Winona State at 2:30 PM.

Go Johnnies! Go Huskies! Go Gophers!
