The NCAA Men's Basketball brackets were unveiled this afternoon, and the Minnesota Gophers are the #5 seed in the South regional, playing first round action in Milwaukee. The Gophers will face 12-seed Middle Tennessee State. The victor will advance to face the Butler/Winthrop winner on Saturday.

The Big Ten has seven teams (Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Northwestern, Purdue, and Wisconsin) in the 68-school field, with Northwestern making its first tournament appearance in school history.

In addition to the Big Ten schools, other teams to make it from neighboring states include North Dakota, South Dakota State, and Iowa State.

The Final Four will take place in Phoenix on April 1st and 3rd.
