Gopher Football to Face Washington State in Holiday Bowl

The Minnesota Golden Gophers (8-4) will face the Washington State Cougars (8-4) on Tuesday, December 27th in San Diego for the 2016 Holiday Bowl. It's the Gophers first trip to a California bowl game since playing in the 1962 Rose Bowl.

The Golden Gophers are 6-12 in bowl games since 1961. Last season they beat Central Michigan 21-14 in the Quick Lane Bowl at Ford Field in Detroit.

The Holiday Bowl has been played annually in San Diego since 1978. The 2016 Holiday Bowl will kick off at 6 PM CT on ESPN, and can be heard in St. Cloud on 1240 WJON.
