We saw our last sunset in the four o'clock hour this week, so they'll all be 5 PM or later moving forward. We'll cross the 6 PM mark on February 27th.

Looking for other signs of springtime hope? Back on December 21st (the shortest day of the year) we had 8 hours and 42 minutes of daylight. Now here we are on January 17th, and we've already tacked on an extra 26 minutes of light. By the end of the month we'll be up to 9 hours and 39 minutes of daylight.

How about this? The official first day of spring is just 62 days away, and we're just 52 days away from 'springing forward' for the start of Daylight Savings Time.

Let's look at average temperatures. The average high for today is just 18°, but before the end of the month that jumps into the lower 20s. Give it another month, and the average high climbs all the way to 30°.

Oh, and the Minnesota Twins home opener on March 28th is coming up in 71 days.

Think Spring!
