George Strait has announced his next studio album, and in a surprise twist, the project is slated to drop by the end of the week.

The King of Country revealed the details of his new project, Cold Beer Conversation, during a press conference at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on Tuesday (Sept. 22). The album's lead single and title song will premiere at country radio on Wednesday (Sept. 23), and the album is set for release on Friday (Sept. 25) via iTunes, Apple Music and Walmart.

Cold Beer Conversation is the followup to 2013's Love Is Everything, which featured "I Got a Car" and scored Strait his 60th No. 1 hit with "Give It All We Got Tonight." Strait co-produced the new album with Chuck Ainley for George Strait Productions and drew from some of the top songwriters in Nashville for the 13 tracks, including Bill Anderson, Jamey Johnson, Brandy Clark, Shane McAnally and Tom Shapiro.

Strait and his son Bubba also co-wrote some of the new songs, including "Let It Go," "It Takes All Kinds" and "Everything I See."

Cold Beer Conversation is currently available for pre-order at iTunes. Strait has also announced a special run of shows in Las Vegas beginning on Sept. 22, 2016, with opening act Kacey Musgraves.
