If you are like me, you try to fill up when you see that the prices at the pump are going up. We really need to be a little more careful not to flat out waste gas. Slow down, have properly inflated tires, don't run over gas pumps!

I'll share my secret to saving a few cents. On my way home I pass at least five gas stations. Usually the BP on Highway 10 will be one of the first to raise their prices. The station closest to my house is one of the last ones to raise the price. I will notice the price on the way to work, then if the Hwy 10 BP is higher than that on my way home, I make sure my closest station is still cheaper and whether I need it or not, I fill up - and then pray the prices come back down before I need to fill up again.

It may not be a great way to save a few cents, but it makes me feel better about filling up. One thing you certainly should avoid is taking out your rage on the pumps themselves. In South Florida recently, a car pulls into the gas station, turns the corner to approach the pump and never straightens the car out. What results is a fire ball and people running for their lives.
