What you give someone for Christmas can sometimes send unintended messages. You may have the very best intentions...but, sometimes your kindness can be taken the wrong way. Here's what I mean:

1. Soap/Shampoo/Bath salts/loofahs-- Whenever you buy someone strictly hygiene related products for Christmas, they might think you're trying to tell them something. "DO I STINK OR SOMETHING," might be what they're really thinking when they open your gift.

2. Blanket. This is a fine gift--if it's not what you gifted this person every year. You know what I'm talking about, You have no idea what to buy grandma, so you keep getting her blankets every year. She's going to think that you think she looks cold all of the time. Chill out on all of the blanket buying.

3. Gym equipment. Although, some people would LOVE to get fitness equipment, you really have to be careful. If it's not something they specifically asked you for, you might be hurting someone's feelings. You don't want to make anyone feel self conscious while they eat their weight in Christmas cookies.

4. Gift cards. I personally love getting gift cards because then I can have my own shopping spree--BUT, it might seem kind of cold and thoughtless to some people. Make sure you choose your audience with this gift.

My motto is be appreciative of every gift you get! But, be careful that you're not unintentionally hurting any feelings along the way! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
